Calculating grades is an essential skill for every student. Whether you're checking your current standing, figuring out what score you need on a final exam, or computing a weighted average across multiple assignment categories, having the right tools makes all the difference.
A weighted grade calculator accounts for the fact that not all assignments count equally toward your final grade. For example, a final exam worth 40% of your grade has much more impact than a homework assignment worth 5%. Calculating grades by weight requires multiplying each score by its weight percentage, then summing the results.
To calculate percentage from grades: Percentage = (Points Earned ÷ Points Possible) × 100. For letter grades: A (90–100%), B (80–89%), C (70–79%), D (60–69%), F (below 60%). To calculate percentage with grades across multiple assignments, sum all points earned and divide by total points possible.
